Membership

Membership of the Society is open to all persons that are engaged or interested in any aspect of the  science and practice of Animal Production including wildlife management from all over the world. Interested individuals, organizations or institutions should apply for membership to the Secretary of the Society.

At present, the Constitution provides for different categories of members. After five years of active participation in the Society's business following due application and enrolment, a member may be called into the Roll of Honour, after which he may append the title, 'MNSAP' after his name. 

The highest honour of the Society is the award of her Fellowships to deserving members who have made significant contributions in the development of animal production in the academia, the public service or industry. Starting with the first Fellow, Professor V.A. Oyenuga FNSAP, who was conferred the honour in 1989, the Society now has 21 Fellows. At the 34th Annual Conference in Uyo, Nigeria in 2009, the Society will confer this honour on the 22nd and 23rd Fellows. They are Professors M.M. Abubakar of Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi and C.F.I. Onwuka of the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta.
